Fairview Heights Station
Client: Metro Transit
Partners: Citizens for Modern Transit and AARP
The Fairview Heights Station underwent a vibrant transformation, blending hardscape and softscape elements to create a more welcoming and visually dynamic space. The project introduced two expansive shade structures, comfortable seating, a striking ground mural, 24 custom light pole banners, and artistic enhancements to bus shelters. Lush greenery, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and fresh grass, further enriched the station’s atmosphere.
Design Lab 443 played a key creative role in shaping the station’s aesthetics, providing original designs for the ground mural, bus shelter art, and pole banners. Additionally, their expertise helped guide the selection of planters, benches, and shade structures, ensuring a cohesive and thoughtfully designed public space.
